The initial launch of 705 Wood Sunglasses included 10 styles which we agonized over narrowing all our ideas down to. We had bets on which ones would do the best. Plus we each had our own personal favourites!
When we first introduced Saratoga with the blue lens it instantly went to the top of the bestsellers list (I won the bet btw, Melissa loved the blue lenses but thought they were a
little too ‘hipster’). The cool blue lenses were ALL we heard about! You spoke and we listened and now we have Saratoga with YELLOW and PURPLE lenses. I can guarantee this will be the TOP SELLER in 20
17! Looking at European trends we are on to something here. Melissa’s new favourites are the purple lenses. In fact we had to hunt her down to rescue the prototype pair for the photoshoot!
When we stepped back and took a look at why Saratoga is so popular we realized this frame fits pretty much every face shape. This style looks great on men and women and the darker natural tones has a real subtle yet natural look. The frame also has that popular vintage shape that has been in vogue for years and is timeless.
Saratoga is one of several 705 styles made from Bamboo. The sustainability of all our styles is awesome, however the ones made from bamboo are superior primarily due to its amazing ability of bamboo to grow and spread quickly without the need for fertilizers, pesticides or even much water. A bamboo grove releases 35% more oxygen into the air than the same amount of trees, and it matures within 7 years (compared to 30-50 years for trees). In fact, bamboo is so fast-growing that it can yield 20 times more timber than trees. Pretty amazing, right!
So to say we are excited about the new lens options on Saratoga is an understatement. To kick off their release we’re offering 20 percent off for the next 3 days. (Plus you’ll have the option to save an additional 15% when you share on your Facebook page after checkout).
Thanks for catching up with us!

I never check the surf on the great lakes without my 705’s. I love my Grenada frames and that they are made from repurposed skateboard deck, having broke a few of those in my day. Something you may or may not know about a great day of great lakes surfing is that there is always a lot of wind and my 705’s always stay where I need them when checking the waves. I can’t wait to get my next pair. Yew!!!
